Goes beyond ranking countries by size to compare the production-consumption gap itself, a genuinely higher-order observation.

The table shows the top ten countries for electricity production and consumption in 2014, measured in billion kilowatt hours.

Overall, China and the USA were by far the two largest producers and consumers of electricity, and in every country listed, production exceeded consumption, though the size of this surplus varied considerably between countries.

China led all countries by a wide margin, producing 5,398 billion kWh and consuming 5,322, more than double the figures for the USA, which produced 4,297 and consumed 3,866. These two countries alone accounted for a substantial share of the electricity produced by the entire top ten.

The remaining eight countries produced and consumed far smaller amounts, ranging from Russia's 1,057 billion kWh down to South Korea's 485. Notably, the gap between production and consumption differed sharply across countries: the USA's surplus of 431 billion kWh was the largest in absolute terms, while South Korea's gap of just 36 billion kWh was the smallest, suggesting South Korea's electricity supply was the most closely matched to its domestic demand of any country in the table.

Eight of the ten countries are missing entirely, and it closes with a speculative aside instead of reporting the data.

This table show electricity for ten country in 2014.

China produce most electricity, more than other country. USA is second.

I think China use so much electricity because many people live there, this is my opinion about this topic.
